Euro 2024 Winners' Odds

Next summer’s European Championships in Germany are fast approaching. Following UEFA’s Group Stage draw on 2nd December, we have taken a look at the favourites to win the competition.

England | Odds: 3/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 4th

The favourites for the upcoming Euros is England. Gareth Southgate’s side reached the final of Euro 2020, where they heartbreakingly lost on penalties to Italy at Wembley Stadium.

England had a decent qualifying campaign ahead of this summer's tournament as they managed to accumulate 20 points from eight matches, memorably beating Italy home and away, potentially vanishing the ghosts of Euro 2020. They have been drawn to play in Group C with Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia.

The Three Lions will be looking to go a step further this time and win the competition, which would be their first piece of silverware since the World Cup win in 1966. With Bukayo Saka in attack, and Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice patrolling the midfield, the sky is the limit for this young England team. Led by captain Harry Kane, who has enjoyed a fantastic debut season for Bayern Munich so far, England fans should be confident about their chances of success.

France | Odds: 7/2 | FIFA World Ranking: 2nd

Second-favourites to win the competition are European giants France. Led by arguably the best player in the world Kylian Mbappe, they will hope to head into the tournament with a much healthier squad.

France had a superb qualifying campaign in Group B, as they finished on 22 points from eight matches, finishing ahead of the likes of the Netherlands, Greece, Republic of Ireland and Gibraltar. Didier Deschamps' side have been drawn to play in Group D of Euro 2024 where they'll play the likes of Poland, the Netherlands and Austria.

Despite their struggles with injuries before the 2022 World Cup where they lost the likes of Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku and Lucas Hernandez, they still made the final where they ultimately lost to Argentina. This showcases the great depth of talent the nation possesses. Under the guidance of the experienced Deschamps, Les Bleus will be looking to win their first Euros since 2000.

Germany | Odds: 6/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 16th

The host nation Germany are third favourites. They will be looking to improve on their last Euros appearance, in which they were knocked out by England in the last 16.

As hosts, they will play in the opening game of the competition against Scotland. This will be the first tournament under new boss Julian Nagelsmann, who took over the team in September following the departure of Hansi Flick. The Germans have a squad filled with talent, most notably Bayern Munich’s 20-year-old superstar Jamal Musiala, but have severely underachieved since they won the World Cup in 2014. Nagelsmann and Germany need to go deep into the tournament on home soil.

There is a lot of scrutiny on Die Mannschaft who have slid all the way down to 16th in the FIFA Men's World Rankings after their dismal 2022 World Cup showing. They will take part in Group A alongside Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland.

Spain | Odds: 8/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 8th

Spain will be looking to go one step better than last time and reach the final of the European Championships, after losing out on penalties to the eventual champions Italy in the semi-finals of Euro 2020.

La Roja last won the tournament in 2012, and their status as the bookie’s fourth favourites means that many believe they have a good chance of being successful once more. They find themselves in a tricky group alongside Italy, Albania and Croatia, who they beat in the Nations League final in June under new manager Luis de la Fuente.

De la Fuente took over from Luis Enrique after the World Cup and oversaw the Nations League victory as well as a dominant European qualifying campaign in which they won seven and lost one in a group containing Scotland, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus. They will hope to continue this form into Euro 2024.

Portugal | Odds: 8/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 6th

In what could be Cristiano Ronaldo’s last-ever appearance at a major international tournament, Portugal will be hoping to win their second-ever European Championship, following their triumph in 2016.

They come into the competition as fifth favourites, off the back of a very strong qualifying campaign. They topped Group J ahead of Slovakia, Luxembourg, Iceland, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Liechtenstein with a perfect record, winning all 10 of their games, scoring 36 and conceding just two.

Portugal's dominance in the qualifiers means they have been rewarded with a group consisting of Turkey and Czech Republic, a draw which could be tricky for the Portuguese. However, they possess a squad loaded with talent, with the likes of Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva and Rafael Leao in their ranks, meaning they should be confident of their chances whoever they come up against.

Belgium | Odds: 16/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 3rd

Ranked number one in the world not too long ago, Belgium enter the tournament following a disappointing display at the World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stages.

The Red Devils’ ‘golden generation’ may not be as it once was, but they still have an abundance of talent in their squad. Belgium may be left sweating on the fitness of Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, but, they will have the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans, Jeremy Doku and more all available for selection.

In qualifying, Belgium managed to top Group F containing Austria, Sweden, Azerbaijan and Estonia with 20 points (six wins and two draws) and will be hoping to impress ay Euro 2024 after being drawn in a group with Romania and Slovakia and Ukraine.

Netherlands | Odds: 16/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 7th

Netherlands came runners up to France in their European qualifying Group B, and will once again join the competition favourites in group D alongside Austria and Poland for the upcoming tournament.

It will prove a tough task to top the French in their group, though they will fancy themselves to progress to the knockout stages. Ronald Koeman's men won six and lost two of their qualifiers, both losses coming against France.

At Euro 2020, the Netherlands were knocked out in the last 16 after a 2-0 defeat to the Czech Republic, whilst their 2022 World Cup journey was cut short by eventual champions Argentina in the quarter-finals. Manager Koeman will be hoping his side enjoy much more success than they have in recent tournaments.

Italy | Odds: 16/1 | FIFA World Ranking: 9th

Holders Italy will come into the tournament having been drawn from pot 4 after their performances in the European qualifiers.

They came second in their qualifying group C featuring England, Ukraine, North Macedonia and Malta based on their head-to-head record with Ukraine, but confirmation of their place in the competition did not come until the final group game, in which they drew 0-0 with Ukraine in what was a nervy affair.

As a result, they have been drawn in a tough looking group B with Spain, Croatia and Albania. New manager Luciano Spalletti took over from Roberto Mancini in September and has won three games so far, an upturn in form following their struggles since they won Euro 2020, a period which included them missing out on World Cup qualification.
